Dip and brush bluing stain 200ml

The term "browning" comes from the word "tanning".
This also includes the blackening, which is mainly used for ferrous articles at a temperature of 300° C or higher. And because this method is far too complex and dangerous for normal domestic use, a so-called brush burnishing, which can be ideally processed at a temperature of 12 to 25° C, is used here.
Many items made of brass, copper or bronze become unsightly over time and need to be reworked. This includes, for example, lamps, candlesticks, lamp bases, vases, handles, candlesticks, figures, fittings and much more.
The partly spotted or soiled surface is first cleaned of dirt and dust adhesions with a common household cleaning agent. This is followed by rubbing with a cloth moistened with solvent to remove paint residue, oil and grease. The object is then carefully sanded down on all sides with fine steel wool (e.g. our reference 334833, 345949 or 334834) in such a way that the original metal color is visible again over the entire surface.
Only then does the burnishing follow.
To do this, the object is thinly painted over with a soft brush soaked in immersion and brush bluing stain. The stain adhering to the metal surface is moved with a brush until it changes colour. This starts with light brown, goes to a medium reddish brown, dark brown to deep black. If the desired color appears, the object is immediately held under running tap water to stop the browning. If this moment has been missed so that the part has become too dark, this can easily be corrected again: To do this, it is rubbed down again with steel wool and then blued again.
After drying, the surface is rubbed with an oily cloth. This prevents further oxidation (browning), which can happen due to humidity. When processing this metal stain, protective gloves and goggles must be worn, which you can also find in our shop.
Black stain contains harmful substances and is labeled according to the CLP regulation.

Blueing protects and seals the brass, bronze or copper surface while providing an exceptional appearance. The associated corrosion protection also serves as a primer for further surface treatments. Primers, paints, antioxidants and protective oils adhere to it.
We have put together this practical set of materials for all those who only need to blacken a few items. It contains everything to rework brass, bronze and copper parts and make them look neatly aged.
Clean the brush with water.
The set contains:
- 1 bottle of paint and blue stain 50ml (brown to black)
- 1 mixing cup 20ml

Gold effect varnish, 25ml
€15.99*
The gold effect varnish is a yellowish, brownish, one-component transparent varnish based on solvent to create a gold effect on a silver-colored surface. It is characterized by high gloss, quick drying and good scratch resistance. It dries purely physically with evaporation of the solvents, which means that the lacquer can be wiped off with a suitable thinner after drying.
The gold effect lacquer is used specifically
- to give silver-colored metals or alloys or galvanized or vapor-coated surfaces a brass or gold-like appearance.
Deceptively real effects can be achieved, especially on silver-white, shiny surfaces (silver-plated or vapor-coated goods).
A kind of "old gold" effect results on grayish metals (for example soft cast iron, nickel, stainless steel).
Bicolor effects on silver are therefore very possible with the paint!
The gold effect lacquer on non-metallic or unmetallized substrates (e.g. glass, ungalvanized plastic, wood) is not suitable. It is best to use gold bronze lacquers here. In any case, a silver-colored surface (regardless of the material) must already exist. Not recommended for exposed areas that are naturally subject to frequent impact or showers.
The gold effect lacquer is used especially in the production of
- costume jewelry
- medals and badges
- hair accessories
- bridal jewelry
- Trach jewelry
- Christmas decorations
- Decorative and promotional items
- souvenirs
- ornaments
- handicrafts

Ideal for colouring Porcellana Fantastica (Art.: 339493 and 339494)
Non-toxic dye solutions are ideal for mixing with water-based paints, dispersions, casting and filling compounds. They are added directly to the selected medium or first mixed into the mixed water, to then be incorporated in casting powder, for example, to create
a coloured casting or filling compound. In grade schools, first mixing attempts can be done with these dye solutions. For example, the primary colours, red, blue, and lemon, can each be mixed with water, dosed differently, or mixed with other colours to create primary colours.
Dosage: The dye bottles are equipped with a closure with a small outlet nozzle and protective cap. This allows dripping the required amounts of dye directly from the bottle. The amounts to be added listed here are non-binding and always depend on the desired colour intensity.
Addition amounts:
- powdered products: 6 - 8 %
- Filling compound: 5 - 8 %
- Liquid lacquers: 2 - 5 %
- Adhesives: 3 - 6 %
Density: 1.28 g/m3
Cleaning: water
